The Effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Eastern Mediterranean
On the 27th May 2020, an online conference of the EastMedForum took place organized by the European Rim Policy and Investment Council (ERPIC), together with the S. Daniel Abraham Centre for Strategic Studies, of the Netanya Academic College, the Maritime Policy and Strategy Research Centre, of the University of Haifa, as well as with the participation of academics, experts, and professionals from Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, the UK, and the US.
The participants discussed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Eastern Mediterranean region from three perspectives: Regional Security, Energy, and Social, Economic, and Political Stability.
Prior to the conference, participants provided pre-recorded commentaries to standard questions, as well as short presentations on the above-mentioned topics, which were made available to the conference participants.
